Positive Futures places a very high value on its volunteers and the contribution they make to supporting people with a learning disability. Volunteers bring fresh energy and vitality, a wide range of skills, rich life experience and expertise to our Organisation. The survey aims to gain a greater understanding of volunteer’s perceptions across a range of topics.

Our booklet “15” tells the stories of 15 people whose lives have been transformed by our work. It was produced to mark our 15th anniversary in October 2010. An accompanying DVD and hard copies of the document are available from our offices.

Careful Plans is a Positive Futures study completed in May 2010 of the aspirations and self–identified needs of all older carers of a person with a learning disability known to the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust living in the Lisburn area.

In April 2010, Positive Futures began a one year childcare project in the Derry / Londonderry area. This project was funded by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and became known as the “DARD” Project.
The project aimed to develop childcare solutions for families which had a child with a learning disability in rural areas around Derry / Londonderry.
