This report presents the findings from an interim evaluation of the Bangor Families Project delivered by Positive Futures. The Bangor Families Project began in 2004 and aims to provide holistic support services to families who have a child with a significant learning disability in Bangor, Co Down. The Project is funded in partnership with the South Eastern Health and Social Services Trust.

This report presents the findings from an evaluation of the Lakeland Family Support Service which is delivered by Positive Futures. The Lakeland Families Service began in 2003 and aims to provide support services to families who have a child with a significant learning disability in Fermanagh. The Service is funded in partnership with the Western Health and Social Care Trust. The report provides a detailed overview of the types of families and children accessing the Service. It presents a wide variety of everyday challenges that parents as carers face with regard to emotional, practical and financial needs.

Lakeland Family Service is extremely proud of 6 young people who have recently completed their Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award. The young people (Jordan Watson, Ciaran McGovern, Kirsty Hoey, Aoife McGerty and Chloe Monaghan) are all supported by the Service, and Niamh White is a young volunteer with the Service.
