Following the Big Lottery Funded Better Futures project Positive Futures created a Carers Charter, detailing the requirement from public bodies to better coordinate with each other and improve the support offered to lifelong carers. This charter was launched at Stormont on the 23rd June.
The Senate at Stormont debated the issue of support for lifelong carers on the 26th September, hearing from a number of lifelong carers supported by Positive Futures about their experiences in getting the right support from public bodies for their loved ones.
This was covered on BBC Newsline and BBC Breakfast News, on BBC Radio Ulster and in social media and Belfast 89 interviewed Agnes Lunny, Positive Futures’ Chief Executive as part of that.
