Our “Transitioning Group” have come to the end of their latest project. The group of four young people transitioning between children’s and adult services and two adults from our Lakeland Supported Living Service have been enjoying a “Gardening for All” project for the last 3 months. They undertook a variety of gardening based activities including work on the sensory garden in Willowbridge School in Enniskillen. They also learnt key skills like weeding and planting as well making candle jars, carved pumpkins, grass heads and bird feeders. The highlight of the project was making and selling the very popular Christmas logs – the group raised an outstanding £519 from this lucrative idea!
All members of the group were delighted to receive their certificate of completion just before Christmas and would like to say an enormous thank you to Anja Rosler who led the group each week. The group would also like to thank Melissa Hanley from our Lakeland Family Support Service and Richie Woods from our Lakeland Supported Living Service for all their enthusiasm and hard work.
All proceeds raised by our Managing Director’s Elfy Living Challenge in 2014 will go towards the group’s next project – they’ll be putting their kitchen skills to the test as they take part in a weekly cookery programme.
