What type of person are we looking for?
We’re looking for people with patience, and a caring disposition, who don’t mind a challenge. We’re looking for someone who finds reasons why something can be done, rather than reasons why it can’t.
If you’re currently in a different career, don’t let that put you off. Some of our staff have had previous roles as firefighters, police officers and transport workers. What they have in common is that they wanted to make a real difference to people’s lives while enjoying a high degree of job satisfaction. If you feel the same way, and have some experience of caring (even in an unpaid capacity for a close relative, or friend), then Positive Futures could be the place for you.
Our Advisory Board, which is made up of people we support, has produced a presentation of what makes a good support worker. You can download the presentation by clicking here.

If you’re a student (18, or over) and want to know how a role with us could fit in with your course, see our leaflet here.
