Amanda Duffy has worked with our Sperrin Supported Living Service since August 2015, first as a Support Worker and more recently as a Senior Support Worker. She describes how Positive Futures lives up to its name for both members of staff and the people we support:
“Working with Positive Futures has been a positive career choice and one of the most rewarding jobs I have done.
“As soon as I joined I could see how the work of Support Workers and management has a daily influence in helping the people we support fulfil their potential.
“I have always felt supported in my role and have always been given the confidence from management to perform at my best, including being given the opportunity to assume additional responsibilities. This was key to my application for the job of part–time Senior Support Worker.
“I was appointed Senior Support Worker in May 2016 and this post has enabled me to see even more clearly the difference we, as an organisation, make in the lives of the people we support. The team have been very supportive and the Service provides an extremely positive environment for further progress, both for staff and for the people we support.
“I enjoy working closely with the people we support, finding ways to better their lives through projects such as ‘The Life I Want’. I find my role very rewarding and I am excited to see how each day unfolds.”
