Sainsbury’s in Bangor has become the latest recipient of our “What About Me?” Welcome Award for its inclusive attitude towards its customers.
Our charity partner has already pulled out all the stops in its fundraising efforts, but staff have also shown a real interest in our work and in the hurdles faced by the people we support.
Our Chief Executive, Agnes Lunny, said: “We’re delighted to confer this award on Sainsbury’s Bangor store. Since we started our charity partnership with the staff there, they couldn’t have been more helpful. From a fundraising point of view and from the point of view of raising awareness of our work, it’s been a huge success. We’re pleased to be able to recognise the inclusive attitude Sainsbury’s has shown to the people we support.”
Richard Heaton, store manager of Sainsbury’s Bangor said: “We are delighted and honoured to receive the “What About Me?” Welcome Award and wish to thank Positive Futures for this recognition. This highlights our commitment to ensuring we provide an inclusive and respectful environment for all our customers and colleagues”.
Sainsbury’s is the first of the major supermarkets to receive the Welcome Award.
