It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare, it is because we do not dare that things are difficult.

Positive Futures is a Northern Ireland charity supporting people with a learning disability.

Providing Positive Futures for people is what we've been about since 1995.

At that time many people with a learning disability lived in large institutions, like hospitals or residential homes.

Too many still do, but organisations like Positive Futures are gradually making a difference, by offering people with a learning disability the opportunity to live full and valued lives within their own communities.

The people we support have a learning disability but, first and foremost, they are people - and people with unique potential.

We support individuals, create individual solutions for unique circumstances and offer a priceless commodity - opportunity!

People with a learning disability lie at the hub of all we do. Families, carers and supporters are involved. And specialist support from Positive Futures brings independence, dignity, respect and the opportunity to live full and valued lives.

Positive Futures is growing with the support of key partners and our development plans will keep us at the forefront of creativity and innovation as we address learning disability issues in Northern Ireland.

The future holds both continuity - more positive work with partners, employees, people with a learning disability and their supporters - and progress.

Since our 10th anniversary in 2005, we have been raising the profile of Positive Futures as we actively campaign for opportunities for people with a learning disability.
