Leap for Love: £2,500 raised!
Submitted by Kerry McWilliams on Fri, 13/03/2009 - 11:56am
Going over the edge took on a whole new meaning for twenty Valentine’s Day abseilers, who took the ‘Leap of Love’ to support Positive Futures’ work.
After training by the experts from Belfast Activity Centre, the fundraisers overcame their fears to abseil from the roof of Belfast’s Europa Hotel – cheered on by families, friends and supporters on the ground.
Positive Futures’ Chief Executive Agnes Lunny - a first-time abseiler on the Leap of Love – said:
‘This was hair-raising, challenging, exhilarating and great fun all at the same. I really admire everyone who abseiled, as I know just how scary it was to take that step over the edge. We’ve had fantastic support from our staff and their families and friends, some of whom travelled a long way to take part. I want to say a big thank you to our sponsors and everyone else who made the Leap of Love such fun and a great success.’
Anyone who wants to support the work of Positive Futures, or has a fundraising idea, should contact Martin McClure, our Fundraising and Marketing Manager - 028 9147 5720.
