Working for Positive Futures
Submitted by Kerry McWilliams on Wed, 25/06/2008 - 10:10am
People, Partnership, Opportunity, Involvement, Inclusion, Equality.
These words matter to us at Positive Futures.
When you join us we will want you to ‘buy in’ to our values, no matter what your job is. Whether you’re a Support Worker, a Fundraiser or work in the Finance Department you will need to be committed to our values. You’ll need to believe in working with people, so that – together – we can achieve our main aim - to empower people with a learning disability, challenge incorrect beliefs and transform lives.
We’ll make a promise
But this isn’t a one-way street.
We champion the cause of people with a learning disability, but we’re just as committed to supporting the people who work for us. When you join us you’ll be a valuable and valued member of the team; we’ll want you to enjoy working with us; we’ll give you the opportunity to grow and develop and we’ll do this in a positive working environment.
That means having a good work-life balance and forward-thinking, family-friendly, flexible working policies.
Diversity
Positive Futures is proud to be a diverse organisation. We offer a wide range of opportunities throughout Northern Ireland. To provide the best services and support to everyone, we are trying to increase the number of staff we employ from different backgrounds. By doing this we will be in a better position to offer support to people from different backgrounds and people with different needs and abilities. This can only make us a stronger, more responsive organisation.
Learning with Positive Futures
We see training as a necessity, not an optional extra. As an organisation we try to learn from everything we do and we encourage employees to learn and develop their skills. We try to offer opportunities to our staff that can develop into long-term careers with us.This approach works, as many of our managers originally joined Positive Futures in support roles. We are proud of this, as we want people to see working for Positive Futures as a career, not just a job.
If you want to help us achieve our vision then read more about what we offer at Positive Futures. Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.
